| 12.4.05 | just so you know, plan b loves the sinister turns and so long princess.
coupla shows coming up in the near future, so check out the shows page. there's also a pretty good chance that you'll hear some new recordings pretty soon (!!), so stay tuned... | ||
| 10.14.05 | it's been a little while since an update, huh? well, it's been a tumultuous 6 months or so for Plan B. unfortunately, Tessa isn't playing with us anymore, but we're working with a couple of awesome new bassists to try and figure out what will work best for the band.
while we're working through that, though, we do have one show coming up! come out to the Quincy Cage on Thursday, October 27th! and stay tuned for more from the grrls soon... |
||
| 4.26.05 | thank you SO MUCH to everyone who voted for us for Springfest! we made it, and are playing this Saturday at 2pm! make sure to come check it out-- it's one of our two last shows this year. more info and informational links on the shows page. | ||
| 4.11.05 | voting for Springfest bands is up at https://uc.fas.harvard.edu/services/ucvote.web rightnow, so hit it up! and while you're voting, get all yr friends to vote for plan b too, but make sure to do it before voting ends this friday (4.15) at 5pm, ok? hotttt. | ||
| 4.5.05 | dear friends and lovers,
plan b wants to play harvard's Springfest in the lovely mac quad on may 30th. superbadly.
in order to do so, YOU, that's right, YOU must help plan b! four bands will be selected to play Springfest through a poll taking place next week on the harvard UC website. (we'll update again when we know the exact days it will be up.) unfortunately, you must be a harvardian to vote in it, butttt hopefully we'll get enough votes to play and then all our non-harvard friends can come watch the show.
so, pretty pretty please vote once the poll goes up. only four bands get to play, and you know there's some pretty damn popular bands at harvard. and if you vote for us we'll be your best friends. promise.

| 2.4.05 | five quick things:
first, plan b loves you.
second, some slightly old news, but still very important: plan b for the type a's strongly condemns larry summers' recent suggestion that "innate" biological differences hold women back from successful careers in the sciences. in fact, we are writing a song about it! all you genius physics, math, bio and chem grrrls should email us (band@planBforthetypeAs.com) and suggest a verse!
third, we're planning new shows rightnow. promise.
fouth, amy + shirley are making a zine. email us supersoon if you want to contribute... we're planning on having it done in a week. also email if you want a copy, but less soon is ok.
fifth, happy groundhog day.

| 1.2.05!! | hey kids, happy new year.
so, no huge news on our end. we're all on break right now, but working on some ohsosuperhot songs and mixing it up a bit (like in one new song, karima drums and shirley plays guitar and screams like a maniac!). we're also all headed back to cambridge really soon so the practices and shows will recommence in no time.
site has little updates here and there. new photos from the hillel show!and some of them are reeeeally sweet. and we just got on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/planbforthetypeas, so add us as your friend.
may the new year rock your socks off.

| 11.22.04 | just a quick update, hi, and happy thanksgiving from the grrls! we've been taking it easy after what felt like 4 million shows in a 30 days... and it feels sogood to be taking a break from obsessive-compulsively practicing our set. now we're taking some time to work out new songs, repair equipment, teach karima how to play drums, etc, etc. we don't think we're planning on playing any shows til the new year begins, but by then we'll have even more new material to rock the fuck out to. it'll be hot.
by the way, been to one of the grrls' shows lately? go talk about it on the message board!

| 11.8.04 |
ok: so many things to do and say. first off, webgrrl has updated show listings, and is in the process of adding lots of photos from our recent shows. if you took any photos at the Middle East or Lady*Fest East, we'd *love* to have them! please contact us at/send them to band@planBforthetypeAs.com.
next up: we have two gigs this week! both are smallish showcases of harvard bands, and right in Harvard Square, so if you're a harvard kid, you really have no excuse not to come. the Hillel's Gold Event is wednesday (the eve of veteran's day, so no worries about staying up on a school night), and the Seneca's S*HOP is at the Crimson on friday. more info, like always, on the shows page.
speaking of the Crimson, harvard's newspaper did a beautiful article on us! check it out-- "Grrl Power Propels Plan B to Type A Success." it has some pretty hot photos of us too...
and last but certainly not least, Lady*Fest, ahh ladyfest... it was such an incredibly fun time. just to think that we shared the stage with the Butchies is AMAZING, and that's only the beginning. we're all supercrazy for the bands we were introduced to at the event, are playing them all the time on our shows on WHRB's record hospital, and we really hope that we can organize some shows with them in the future. also, thanks to everyone who made it all the way to NY to watch us-- we really, really appreciate your love and support.
oh! and one more thing! we have pins and hand-made tee-shirts (and still have CDs) avaiable for your purchase and enjoyment-- pins at $1, tees at $6, CDs at $3. you can pick them up at any of our shows, or, if you actually know us, just get ahold of one of us and we'll figure something out. we're not yet sure how we're doing mail-order type buying, but we'll work out the details soon, and in the meantime, if you think you'll die without Plan B paraphernalia, email and tell us so, and we'll figure it out.
oh boy, gotta jet. come to the Hillel on wed!! |

| 10.26.04 |
>we owe one million loves and thank you's to everyone who came out to the Middle East last night! all the grrls agree that it was a really great show, and it definitley could not have been the same without your support. and Leave the Body, the Silver Lining, and Stereo Soul Future were all awesome-- we're really happy that we had the opportunity to play with them. what's up next? Ladyfest East is this weekend and we're seriously dying of anticipation and excitement. aaand then we're playing a show with a bunch of harvard bands at the Hillel in a couple of weeks. and after that, we're working on booking shows all over the Boston area. so huzza for Ladyfest! if you're in NY, we hope to see you there! |
||
| 10.17.04 | whoa, has it really been a month since we've posted any news? time is going quick like a maniac... probably because we've been so busy writing and practicing and planning strategy of attack for Ladyfest and the Middle East. we're even designing t-shirts and pins!
so, big news today is a reminder that we're playing at the Middle East in just a week and a day! don't you dare miss this show-- it's gonna rock your fuckin socks off. see you next monday! -the grrls |
||
| 9.17.04 | ATTENTION BOSTON MUSIC COMMUNITY! plan B for the type A's needs Boston-area shows! if you're organizing a show, or if you have a backdoor into local clubs, or hell, even if you're throwing a party and want some good music, pretty please get in touch with us at band@planBforthetypeAs.com! and hey, if the gig works out, we very well may love you forever. | ||
| 9.13.04 | HUZZA! brannnew site up and running! take some time to explore, and please let the webgrrl know if there are any mistakes or if you have any suggestions!
us grrls are all returning to Cambridge this week, and we're excited to be together again! we're working on new material, and getting ready for Ladyfest East this Halloween weekend (more info on the shows page). we'll also very likely be doing some shows in the Boston area in the fairly near future, so make sure to check back for updates! hasta pronto! -amy, irene, karima, shirley and tessa |
